Choosing a university path is more than just selecting a field of study; it’s about choosing the community that will help students navigate an increasingly complex world. At the Carnegie Mellon Institute for Strategy & Technology (CMIST), we take that responsibility seriously.

What this means:

  • The CMU Edge: We don’t just teach theory; we remain mission oriented. Our students gain technical understanding and analytical skills that top-tier employers—from the State Department to Silicon Valley—are looking for.

Additionally, with showing that 33% of employers are raising educational requirements, a CMIST degree puts our graduates in a top tier of candidates.

CMIST students don't just study theory; they solve problems. Through CMIST’s capstone projects and internships, students gain real world experience. During the MITS capstone project, students engage in team-based, real-world problem-solving related to their concentration, while students in the MS STAIR program test their skills in a professional environment before graduation through a summer internship in Washington, DC.
