Sarah Pidgeon鈥檚 (CFA 2018) profile as an actor is growing across the stage and screen, with a Tony nomination and major leading roles in just the last five years.
鈥淭here鈥檚 a complexity that I want to bring to all characters that I play,鈥 Sarah says. 鈥淭hey鈥檝e had so many different colors to them, but they all share a strong sense of self with both nuance and intelligence.鈥
Most recently, Sarah stepped into Carolyn Bessette鈥檚 shoes to portray her romance with John F. Kennedy Jr. for A darker role, both in content and hair color, came as one of the teens contending with a killer on the loose in the 2025 horror reboot 鈥淚 Know What You Did Last Summer.鈥
For her depiction of Diana, a singer-songwriter on the rise, in Broadway鈥檚 鈥淪tereophonic,鈥 Sarah earned the Tony nod for Best Featured Actress in a Play in 2024. Staged in a recording studio, the play tells the story of an up-and-coming band in the 1970s. Sarah and her castmates sing and play instruments while showing the messy dynamics of a band creating and clashing as they record an album.
鈥淭he script was unlike anything I'd read before, and I was so eager to see how to orchestrate it,鈥 she says. 鈥淚 loved Diana for being a young woman in a creative field and experiencing what her artistry means.鈥
Up next for Sarah is a lead role in Paul Schrader鈥檚 new film, 鈥淣on Compos Mentis.鈥 It鈥檚 billed as an erotic thriller that co-stars Liam Hemsworth, Caleb Landry Jones and Dianne Wiest.
鈥淚t鈥檚 exciting to have scripts to be excited about, and people I鈥檓 excited to work with,鈥 she says. 鈥淚t feels so gracious to be leading a life of collaboration.鈥
