Highmark Center

The Posner Family Wellness Garden, located in the Highmark Center for Health, Wellness and Athletics, offers the CMU community a serene outdoor retreat. The garden features raised beds filled with native perennial plants as well as seating and a walking path. This space is designed for students, faculty and staff to relax, rejuvenate and take a break from the bustling, urban campus.

In addition to stormwater and energy benefits, this campu green roof's most important feature is the benefit that humans receive from time in nature. The garden is ideally situated between the University Health Services (UHS) and Counseling and Psychological Services (CaPS) offices. It is a cozy space for contemplation and respite, exemplifying CMU's commitment to providing students with holistic wellness services.

Location: Fourth floor of the building, outside of the CaPS offices

Accessibility: The Garden is open to students, faculty and staff with CMU ID during visiting hours. Large windows offer views of the space. The garden is ADA accessible and the fourth floor can be reached via elevator. There is an adjacent planted area that is not open to visit, but also can be viewed via floor to ceiling windows.
