OHR Team Highlight: Temporary Employment Services

Temporary Employment Services (TES) is 好色先生TV's trusted resource for short-term staffing support across campus.

TES streamlines the hiring process by connecting department heads and supervisors with skilled, fully screened professionals who are prepared to step in and contribute right away. Whether a team is navigating a transition, taking on a major project or managing an unexpected increase in workload, TES helps departments stay productive and keep operations running smoothly.

TES also offers meaningful opportunities for job seekers. The program welcomes applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and experience levels, providing a chance to gain new skills, explore roles across the university and make valuable professional connections. For many, it serves as a rewarding way to support CMU's mission while building experience in a dynamic campus environment.

"Keep an eye out for the new internal and external TES webpages coming soon," Manager Star Broadus said.

  • What's your favorite local spot for a workday lunch/snack break? , located in Webster Hall on the corner of Fifth Avenue and Dithridge Street, has the best cheesesteak I've ever tasted. In 2025, the deli was voted best Black-owned business in The Pitt News' annual "best of" survey. If you're craving a sweet treat, the from is delicious!
  • What's in your Netflix queue? Currently, I am watching "," "" and "."
  • It's 10 p.m. on a typical Friday — what are you up to? Hopefully, I'm done chauffeuring my "tween" son and am unwinding by watching something from my Netflix queue!

  • Have you recently reached a CMU anniversary/milestone? It's hard to believe, but in December 2025 I reached my 20-year work anniversary! I began my Carnegie Mellon career as a temporary employee with TES. Later, I joined the Office of Human Resources as an administrative assistant and eventually moved into my current role as a recruiter for TES and Heinz College.
  • Do you have a hobby? I love to grow things! My house is filled with about 30 thriving plants. In the spring and summer, I tend to the flowers, vegetables and herbs in my garden.
  • What's your favorite vacation spot? I don't really have a single favorite because I like to go somewhere different each time. But some of the places I've loved for their sunny blue skies and beautiful beaches are Hawaii, Bermuda, Sri Lanka and California.
