Building a culture of civility requires intentional effort and accessible resources. By providing educational materials and workshops, we want to empower you to engage in knowledge and skill-building that lays the groundwork for a more civil campus community. 

Civility Education

To build understanding and capacity for civility work, workshops and programs will be offered to the campus community. To request a workshop, please complete the .

To request a workshop or listening circle, please complete the request form at minimum three weeks prior to the desired date. If there is urgency surrounding the need for a workshop or listening circle, please complete the form and email Candace Okello, assistant dean of Student Affairs for Civility Initiatives, or call 412-268-2075 to describe the need.

Programs

In partnership with , Civility Initiatives and Community Engagement and Leadership Development are launching The Viewpoints Fellowship — a year-long, paid leadership program designed to equip students with the necessary skills to productively navigate disagreement, lead constructive dialogue, and foster more resilient campus communities.
