AI and Data Analytics Summit
In 2025, CMU celebrated two successful events: AI Day and Data Analytics Day. These two events aligned with our institutional strengths and supported the university’s strategic priorities in fostering a human-centered future, improving our organizational agility, and expanding the frontiers of research and discovery.
AI development depends on good data foundation, and data analytics development benefits from AI development. There is synergy between AI and data analytics as supported by industry research and practices. To further promote and leverage this synergetic energy, we are combining the AI and Data Analytics Day into a single, unified experience: the 2026 CMU AI and Data Analytics Summit.
The AI and Data Analytics Summit will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sponsored by the Office of the CIO and the Office of the Provost, we will explore “Intelligence at Scale: Driving a Human-Centered Future with AI and Data Analytics." This theme is designed to reflect and accelerate our university’s core priorities as outlined in the Strategic Framework.
Building on our Strategic Framework, the Summit explores how world-class data infrastructure and AI can expand research frontiers while prioritizing a human-centered future. By fusing these disciplines, we ensure that our technological growth remains ethical, transparent, and focused on enhancing human capability.
