Get Involved with Arts Greenhouse
Get Involved
Arts Greenhouse offers a variety of ways for Carnegie Mellon students to get involved.
The spring semester course (76-254) equips CMU students with the tools necessary for teaching and community engagement. From there, students have continued AG’s work through internships, volunteering and public art and media projects.

Other Opportunities for Students & Faculty
Internships
Interns write curriculum for fall, spring and summer programming, help prepare materials and participate in community events. Positions are paid hourly and open in the summer, with opportunities to continue teaching throughout the academic year.
Volunteering
Volunteer lunches are held on the first Friday of every month from 1-3 p.m., Our volunteers assist with nonprofit administrative and community outreach, creating sample projects and visual aids, and prepping and organizing classroom supplies.
AG Podcast Studio
In 2025, Arts Greenhouse will launch a Podcast Studio at our Suburban General site in Bellevue. This project is supported by funding from the Allegheny Regional Commission and the Suburban General Arts Initiative. The studio will provide CMU students and Arts Greenhouse students a space to co-create podcasts that explore identity, storytelling and community voice and serve as a teaching tool embedded into courses and workshops with CMU faculty.
We are seeking consultation and assistance with teaching workshops from CMU students and faculty with experience in podcast writing, production, marketing, distribution, audio engineering or other relevant skills.
Please contact Emma Fries if you are interested in getting involved.
