Applications for the Undergraduate Innovation Scholars Program are Open!Â

The Undergraduate Innovation Scholars program is a two-year program that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, while seeking to increase the number of successful startup companies initiated by or involving CMU's undergraduate students. Undergraduate students in their sophomore year, who are actively working on a startup or plan to have a startup by the summer of 2026, are eligible to apply.Â
Summer Undergraduate Research Apprenticeships (SURA)
Deadline: May 8
Course Information: 99-270 (3, 6, 9 or 12 units, university-funded)
Complete a research apprenticeship with a faculty member in any field of study, including artistic/creative inquiry, and engage in professional development programming offered by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Scholar Development. Application Information can be found on the SURA website.
Undergraduate Summer Internship
Deadline: May 8
Course Information: 99-412 (1 unit, university funded)
Available to undergraduate students whose internship sites require credit bearing enrollment for eligibility. The internship is for elective credit only and must be unpaid. This is not eligible for CPT. Two forms are required prior to enrollment – one from the student and one from the employer.
